IntroductionSince Tom was so meticulous in recording, engineering, and producing Boston's albums, the others had plenty of spare time. And so they stayed busy with side projects. Here is a what the others did and are still doing. |
Barry Goudreau 1980 - Portrait, 1996 - Razor & Tie |
BandBarry Goudreau (guitar), Brad Delp (vocals), Sib Hashian (drums), Fran Cosmo (vocals) DescriptionHard rockin' guitar-based music, similar to Boston. Features a blistering guitar work by Barry, especially the solo on "Mean Woman Blues." Brad's voice dominates this album, but Fran Cosmo is also featured on a couple of tracks. Was released on LP in 1980, out of print for years, and finally reissued on CD by 1996 by Razor & Tie. |
![]() Orion The Hunter 1984 - Portrait, 1995 - Razor & Tie |
BandBarry Goudreau (guitar), Brad Delp (backing vocals), Fran Cosmo (vocals), Bruce Smith (bass), Micheal DeRosier (drums) DescriptionThe music on Orion The Hunter is more keyboard/synthesizer based. It rocks, but is different than Boston. Still Barry shreds on this one too. The album even had a hit single with a music video in "So You Ran." Was released on LP in 1984, out of print for years, and finally reissued on CD in 1995 by Razor & Tie. |
![]() RTZ - Return To Zero 1991 - Giant |
BandBarry Goudreau (guitar), Brad Delp (vocals), Tim Archibald (bass), Dave Stefanelli (drums), Brian Maes (keyboards) DescriptionRTZ formed around Brad and Barry while they were recording for fun. The album is more accoustic than Boston, but it rocks. It's the best ex-Boston album so far. The supporting musicians, Tim, Dave, and Brian are very talented and really contribute to the feel of the music. Was released in 1991 and is currently out of print (maybe Razor & Tie will pick this one up too). Look for it in used CD stores, in cut-out bins (!), and occasionally in regular stock. |
![]() Beatle Juice 1995 - 2007 |
BandBrad Delp (vocals, guitar), Muzz (drums), Joe Holaday (bass), Bob Squires (guitar), Steve Baker (keyboard, guitar). In 2003 Pete Distefano replaced Bob Squires. DescriptionBeatle Juice is a Beatles tribute band that plays around the Boston area. Brad is a massive Beatles fan and this is his how he has fun. They sound quite good too. Beatle Juice only performs live. Beatle Juice does not have any CD's available; however, they have been recorded from various performances including a radio broadcast on WZLX in Boston and the Fest for Beatles Fans in Boston 2003. Visit the Beatle Juice Web Page for more information. |
![]() Lisa Guyer Band - Gypsy Girl 1997 - OMG |
BandBarry Goudreau (guitar), Lisa Guyer, with guest apearances from Brad Delp, Brian Maes, Dave Stefanelli, and Tim Archibald DescriptionThe Lisa Guyer Band was formed around Barry and Lisa. The music is a bluesy style and Lisa's voice is similar to Melissa Etheridge. Once again Barry's guitar smokes! Both Lisa and Barry say they have found their "musical soul mate." To order the Lisa Guyer Band's CD, send a check or money order for $12 (s/h is included) payable to "Lisa Guyer Band" to the following address: Lisa Guyer |
![]() Lisa Guyer Band - Leap of Faith 2000 |
BandBarry Goudreau (guitar), Lisa Guyer, with guest apearances from Brad Delp, Brian Maes, Dave Stefanelli, and Tim Archibald DescriptionHer second album is even more mature than the first. It has several highlights including her version of Son of a Preacher Man and a smokin' unplugged acoustic version of Long Time! Man, if only Boston had done an unplugged concert. That song proves it could've been done. To order the Lisa Guyer Band's CD, send a check or money order for $12 (s/h is included) payable to "Lisa Guyer Band" to the following address: Lisa Guyer |
![]() RTZ - Lost 2001 |
BandBarry Goudreau (guitar), Brad Delp (vocals), Tim Archibald (bass), Dave Stefanelli (drums), Brian Maes (keyboards) DescriptionLost was almost never released. The story goes like this: Barry had all those recordings left over from the first RTZ album that he was planning on putting on the second album, that is until the label dropped them (!). Barry shopped the recordings around and it was picked up by MTM Music in 1998. Lost is a German import. It can be ordered from NEH records. If you liked the first RTZ album, then don't miss out on this one either. It's great and features more great harmonies by Brad Delp. Also, check out the Japanese release featuring the bonus track Dangerous. |
