Phil from the UK writes: We set off for Edinburgh at lunchtime, me Ricker, Bertie, Porky and Jinks. It was a very cold Autumn day that Friday 26 October (1979), but nothing would have held us back from seeing the Band that I'd been raving about since '77.
We got to Edinburgh just as dark was coming in, and asked a local for directions to the Royal Highland Exhibition Centre. He talked in such a broad accent we couldn't understand him and we started laughing, he said, "Are you takin' the piss ooot a meee" I apologised quick, because he was a big bloke and we didn't want to see the nasty side of his nature, then got moving - rapid. When we got to the Exhibition Centre there was already a large queue at the door. It was really cold, but don't let anyone tell you the Scots are tight (mean), about every five minutes or so another bottle of Scotch would come down the line, and those queuing would have a swig at it to warm them up, then pass it on to the person behind! I made sure I got near the front when we got inside, the support band (Trickster) weren't bad, but simply not in the same class as the band we'd gone to see. Boston played a blinding gig, it was so full of drive and energy, - just fantastic! However, it was over all too soon, then we had the long drive back to Cumbria. I'd bought six tickets, but for some reason (that I can't remember now) the sixth person didn't come. I kept the ticket, and it now lives inside the sleeve of "Don't Look Back" Best wishes from this side of the Pond!
