This one is almost perfect... Almost

For the longest time Cherry Blossom Tour was the only bootleg from the this night. Then out of the blue a few years later came JFK. JFK filled in the missing gaps where Cherry Blossom fell short, but lacked in sound quality. Why can't we have it all? Well, now we can, sort of. This boot does have much better sound quality and is not missing part from any song, but it's not perfect.

There is nothing new to the set that you haven't already read in my writeups of Cherry Blossom or JFK. What is new is that not one second of this concert is missing (unlike the other two boots). It's got all the great songs from the second tour, including "Television Politician" and "Don't Be Afraid".

The sound quality is both top notch and disappointing. Throughout the majority of the concert, it simply blows me away it is so good. Great clear bass, and nice midtones and high end. Just flawless. In fact, it's just about perfect. However, the latter part of the show disappoints as the taper must've stashed his recorder and moved to the floor section. The result is a somewhat muffled sound with VERY loud hand clapping. You can feel the energy in the crowd, but you can't hear the music as well.

Like Day-1 the artwork is nice. It's very colorful and has a nice look. It has several photos of Boston (most taken from the tour book). The photos are different than those in Day-1. The front cover is especially nice, featuring a great quality pic of the Japanese tour book.

It's hard to judge what is the best part of this boot, the excellent sound quality, or the "completeness". It's hard to recommend this over Cherry Blossom. I'd say if your favorite song is not in the encores, then get this disc. Ideally, you should get both this disc and Cherry Blossom Tour. If you don't care if you have this date or one two days earlier, then I recommend Tokyo Day 1.
