This is an Alive Clone. Probably rarer though.
Like Alive, Space Invasion is labled '1978', but it was actually recorded from the King Biscuit Flower Hour FM broadcast in June 1977. This is LP number three of ths concert and all three were probably made from the Alive bootleg. I also have a suspision that this bootleg may be from the same source tape as Alive and perhaps made by the same people.
Like Alive, the sound quality is top notch. In fact, it sounds identical to Alive. The song order has really been messed up. Brad introduces "More Than a Feeling" and it cuts into "Foreplay/Long Time". How irritating! Just after "A Man I'll Never Be" you can briefly hear the DJ's voice before a quick fade. So there is some sloppy editing here with this boot. But we didn't have computers and digital audio software back then did we?
The artwork is similar to Alive as well. It is a hand-drawn Star Wars scene. The back cover is plain white (well, it used to be white, now it is age-faded brown). Also like Alive this boot comes with inserts proclaiming the evils of the corporate record labels and that "This is not a bootleg". haha. I just love bootlegs!
This record was extremely hard to find. I had a harder time finding this one than Alive. In fact, I was beginning to think that it didn't exist. If rare boots are your thing, then this boot is for you. Special thanks goes out to Rob Ells for loaning me his LP for this writeup.
